Women in Real Estate: Mia Acutt

For the past eight years, Mia Acutt has had the honor of working alongside her husband, Jonathan Acutt, and together, they have embraced the challenges and successes that come with steering this 173-year-old company forward.

Among the pivotal milestones during Mia's tenure, two stand out prominently, she says. The first was an expansion of Acutts service portfolio to cater comprehensively to clients' needs. This package spans Property Management and Rental Asset Management to Residential Sales & Letting, and Commercial Sales inclusive of service stations.

The second was the introduction of Acutts Agent At Home initiative. In this the agency provides aspiring principals with comprehensive mentorship, structured real estate education and tools, with the ultimate goal of their becoming franchisees and leading their own teams.

Mia's Five Tips:

1. Build strong networks

Networking is a cornerstone of success in any industry, and real estate is no exception. Actively participating in industry events and joining professional organisations not only expands your knowledge base but also opens doors to new opportunities and collaborations.

2. Cultivate long-lasting relationships

Collaboration is key in business. Partnering with like-minded individuals and companies fosters a supportive ecosystem where mutual growth and success are nurtured over time.

3. Focus on financial literacy

In the dynamic property world, financial acumen is crucial. Understanding real estate finance, property valuation, and investment analysis empowers informed decision-making and ensures the sustainability of your business ventures.

4. Embrace continuous education

Education is a powerful tool for advancement. Investing in ongoing professional development not only enhances your skills and knowledge but also positions you as a leader in your field. At Acutts, we prioritise empowerment of our agents through continuous education and support, recognising that knowledge is the cornerstone of success.

5. Be confident in your expertise:

Confidence is a catalyst for success. Women in the property sector should embrace their expertise, advocate for their ideas, and seize leadership opportunities. By confidently showcasing their skills and contributions, women can drive positive change and be influential within their organisations and the broader industry.
