“Private Property’s purpose is to build the South African story by empowering everyone to realise their property dreams, and this is an important chapter in this story”, says Mason Ince, the Private Property Business Analyst tasked with bringing these updates to the website.
“We know that our users are all different and have unique needs when searching for a property, and our goal is to match them with the home that ticks all their boxes. These updates will make it easier for everyone to find the property that’s perfect for them,” Ince added.

At Private Property, there’s a home for everyone, and we want to make is easy to find the exact type of property that you’re looking for; so whether you’re looking for a rental, a farm, or a bank property, it’s all on our site.
We’ve added a new set of tabs that allow you to navigate easily between different sections of the website. When searching property in a particular area, a user can switch effortlessly between Sales, Rentals, Commercial, On Show, Farms and Bank Properties in one step.

More visible sorting options
When searching property for sale, you may want to see the newest properties listed in an area, or see the lowest-priced properties first. The options for sorting properties are now more visible and make it easier to sort the results by highest price, lowest price and most recent.

When searching for rentals, knowing when a property is available for you to move in is often extremely important. Rental property results can be sorted by date available, price and recency.

Our onsite filters allow you to specify exactly what you’re looking for in a property, and ensure that you only see properties that match your search criteria. You can select your price range, number of bedrooms, security features and even amenities like a sea view or pet-friendly. The filter options have been moved to a more prominent position to the right of the page, making it easier to hone in on the perfect property.

Instant Alerts are a great way to ensure that you never miss out on a new property. You just need to specify a location, price and features and we send you an email notification as soon as a matching property becomes available. As part of this site refresh, we’ve simplified the process of signing up for Instant Alerts and now require only an email address.

Bank sales and repossessed properties page
Bank sales offer buyers an excellent opportunity to buy well-priced property. Our bank sales and repossessed properties page has been completely redesigned, with a number of different ways to search for property. You can search by location, specific bank, price range or property type. This section of the website is now also fully responsive, so you have the same awesome experience, whether you’re on your computer in your office, or on your mobile while on the move.

New Farms and Smallholding section
For the first time, Private Property has a dedicated agricultural property section on our website. The new Farms and Smallholdings section allows buyers to search across South Africa for this property type. Property listing in the Farms section can be sorted by price, land area and recency.
