International award for website excellence

Private Property has been honoured with the receipt of an International Media Award (IMA) for excellence in website design.

Private Property’s portal received an Outstanding Achievement rating in the real estate category, with an overall score of 95 percent, scoring 100 percent for content and 98 percent for functionality.

In total, 55 sites were entered in this category, and only six were awarded this prestigious ranking.

What does this mean for you a property investor? Well, this award is proof that it’s now easier than ever to find the right properties to invest in!

About Private Property:

We’re obsessed with the idea of taking the stress out of home-hunting. Changing stress to success makes up happy.

We have all of SA’s best property in one place for buyers and renters to peruse. Estate agents, banks, developers, private sellers and landlords all list with us to give our browsers the widest variety of properties to be found on any South African portal.

COO Simon Bray says that the design and development of our new site was approached from an architectural point of view – starting with the assessment of browsing patterns from the soon-to-be-rebuilt site. Then, a period of re-interpreting process flows and designing the visual interface was initiated. Whiteboard first; succeed second.

“The design – both visual and its underlying code – is significant in that it presents a market-leading innovation in the SA online property market. The new interface is interactive, intuitive and inspirational. A number of new features and products have been developed and assimilated for the convenience of our million-or-so unique browsers every month, as well as our advertisers.

“Our goal is to make it easier for buyers and tenants to find their perfect homes and start talking to sellers, landlords and agents.”

But we’re as passionate about pushing the boundaries … ensuring that we’ll be better tomorrow than we are today. We’re constantly working to help our browsers easily obtain all the information they need; information that is perfectly presented and prettily packaged. This drive is in our DNA.

Most of all, though, we relish the opportunity to inject a little fun and elicit a smile or two as our browsers search for the homes that tug at their heart strings. We want them to fall in love with their new homes at first sight – while viewing them online, in their slippers if that’s their regular browsing attire.

About IMA:

The Interactive Media Awards recognise the highest standards in website design and development, and honour individuals and organisations for their outstanding achievement.

Created by the Interactive Media Council, a non-profit organisation of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Inetrnet and offer winners a boost in marketing and exposure. The council serves as the primary sponsor and governing body of the awards, establishes the judging system and provides the judges for the competition – which this year included the likes of Ogilvy & Mather, Condé Nast Publications and New York Times

The awards were launched in 2006 as a method of providing accomplished and talented web professionals with the endorsements and tools necessary to be recognised in the marketplace as leading providers of top-tier services.
