The Sibaya Coastal Precinct is taking off

This prime area on the North Coast is being transformed from sugar cane fields to huge mixed used developments.

The Sibaya Coastal Precinct is an area of great interest in KwaZulu-Natal, whether you are a developer, an investor or a family looking for a change. Situated along the North Coast between Umhlanga and Umdloti, this sugar cane region is seeing huge changes happening that will boost its economy, create jobs and craft an entirely new lifestyle.

Launched through Tongaat Hulett Developments, the Sibaya Coastal Precinct is set to build up a thriving area that connects people to the important things in life, such as their families, the community and the neighbourhood’s stunning natural surroundings. The fact that the construction of the buildings will work with the incredible landscape of the area is what makes this precinct so unique.

“Sibaya Coastal Precinct boasts the most sought-after address on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, whether this be for business, pleasure or living. Just minutes from the King Shaka International Airport, the business hub of Umhlanga and the Durban CBD, this emerging new precinct inextricably links people to the greater metropolitan network, while seamlessly integrating with an environment of unequalled natural endowment including river frontage, access to a vast and pristine coastal forest and bordering arguably the best stretch of coastline on the KwaZulu-Natal east coast,” says Rory Wilkinson, planning executive: Sibaya Coastal Precinct, Tongaat Hulett Developments.

OceanDune Sibaya, the first residential development to launch in this area at the end of 2015, had sold out its apartment offerings in a mere four months. The exquisite Signature Sibaya development, launched last year, sold 80% of its plots purely through word of mouth. The interest in this area doesn’t stop there. The newest residential development offering luxury resort-style apartment living, Pebble Beach Sibaya, has also racked up immense interest from investors.

Sibaya Coastal Precinct boasts a unique coastal lifestyle and beautiful areas of nature. It’s set to create a work-live-play ethos for those who reside within it. With close proximity to schools in the North Coast area, easy access to the M4 and N2 and being so close to the beach and other amenities, this budding node is one to keep an eye on.

What makes the Sibaya Coastal Precinct so attractive?

With the natural progression of development up the North Coast, the launch of the new Sibaya Coastal Precinct has been highly anticipated. The perfect location allows buyers the opportunity to own a home or holiday home in a tranquil and scenic area with spectacular ocean views and easy access to the beach. While at the same time offering the convenience of hot spots such as Umhlanga Village, Gateway, Umhlanga Ridge and the airport for leisure and business purposes. Its coastal position and proximity to all these amenities are what make Sibaya such an attractive location.

What type of property can you find within the Sibaya Coastal Precinct, and what future developments can we look forward to seeing?

Three developments have been almost sold out already at Sibaya. Signature, which is an exclusive estate, will comprise 45 beautiful homes, all with sea views; and Pebble Beach and OceanDunes, both of which are apartment blocks. There are several other sectional title developments planned for Sibaya, as well as mixed-use components. We will be releasing the last seafront development in April, called Coral Point, which will be prime residential apartment living in a resort-style development.
