The wide selection of properties available and enviable lifestyle in this Johannesburg suburb mean it’s a popular choice for buyers from all walks of life.
About the area
Sunninghill continues to attract buyers from all walks of life and, in particular, young professionals and young families. The suburb offers a wide selection of properties from affordable starter apartments to upmarket family homes.
It also has easy access to all the major highways, with excellent schools such as St Peter’s Schools and others nearby, and a number of shopping centres to choose from, according to agents.
Sunninghill is home to Eskom Megawatt Park, PricewaterhouseCoopers and state-of-the-art terminal design concept Audi Centre Rivonia, which holds Audi sport cars for those who value luxury on wheels.
Kim Naina, who has lived in Sunninghill since 2014, says, “I love that it is central to everything and the people here are so friendly – hence the community feel.”
Residents are spoilt for choice for shopping as they get to choose from Sunninghill Village, home to the popular Beach Blanket Bohemia restaurant, Superspar, Woolworths Food and Clicks, among other stores. Adjacent the Audi Centre there is a Chilli on Top with a Food Lover’s Market, a Spur and Dischem. Opposite this precinct there is the Builders Warehouse Rivonia. Other centres include Chilli Lane, home to Doppio Zero and Virgin Active gym, The Square and The Core.
Kim says Sandton City and Mall of Africa are a driving distance away thus giving residents plenty of choice for entertainment and shopping facilities. Cambridge Crossing Shopping Centre in Paulshof and Rivonia Village are also just a short drive away.
The suburb is also home to Sunninghill Hospital and the upmarket Riverside Manor retirement village.
Sunninghill is a well-kept area, always clean and presentable, and it is a fairly safe neighbourhood.
