Boasting a central location and offering plenty to do, Rosebank is a hub of activity that appeals to those seeking a work, live, play lifestyle.
Few people in Johannesburg can claim to live, work and play in the same area. Stephan Potgieter is one lucky resident who can. Although he has worked in Rosebank for four years, he only moved to the suburb in January this year, and he says it’s the best decision he’s ever made.
“It’s great. I’ve hardly used my car since moving to Rosebank. Whereas before, I spent around two hours a day commuting back and forth, I can now wake up 30 minutes before work and still be on time.”
He says Rosebank gives residents the opportunity to live in a hub of activity, but the area doesn’t feel like a collection of concrete boxes. Even real estate experts attest to the growing demand for property in Rosebank.
The leafy suburb is well located making it an ideal place to explore the rest of the city from. It’s also easy to access and has a lot of public transport, including the Gautrain and buses, and pedestrian-friendly walkways.
“Rosebank is a little bit of Europe in the heart of Johannesburg, anchored by unique retail facilities and inhabited by even more unique residents, there is never a dull moment.”
As someone who lives and works in the same suburb, Stephan can have lunch at home or choose from the many eclectic restaurants which provide a social hub for many who work and live in the suburb.
“I think Keyes Art Mile is probably the hippest new inspirational development in Joburg, and the collection of shops and restaurants is great for a quiet stroll.”
On weekends, Rosebank Mall’s Sunday Market is a must-visit place to pick up artisanal foods and some quirky arts and crafts.
