Suburb focus on Framesby

With the low crime rate, friendly people and variety of properties, the beautiful suburb of Framesby in Port Elizabeth is a wonderful place to call home.

Tucked between Sunridge Park and Kabega Park lies the beautiful suburb of Framesby. With its low crime rate, Framesby is probably one of the safest areas in PE – something that can be attributed to the neighbourhood watch, which patrolled the area from 2008 to 2016, and Bradbury Protection Services, which started operating in the suburb in late 2016. The company now patrols the area 24 hours a day and responds to alarms at residents’ homes.

Resident Megan Bennett says the suburb has become much safer in the last few months. “Crime has dropped significantly due to their service.”

The suburb also has spacious family homes with beautiful gardens. “Our home was built in 1965 and one of the things we love about it is our back garden. It’s a safe, fun place for the kids to play, and full of fruit. And as a farmer’s daughter, it’s a dream come true for my kids to be able to eat fruit straight from the tree as I did growing up,” says Megan.

The family-friendly neighbourhood also has safe, beautiful parks. “One of my favourite places in the area is the local park, and also Sunridge Shopping Centre which is just across the way,” says Megan.

Although Framesby is part of the Western Suburbs, its location makes it easy to access. With the N2 on-ramps on either side of it, and its position at the beginning of Cape Road, most destinations in PE are relatively close and easy to get to.

Getting to Baywest from Framesby takes a mere seven minutes, and a drive to the beachfront only takes 15 minutes. “Framesby is really very central as it’s easy to get onto the main roads, and the noise of the highway is not actually so bad and you get used to it very quickly,” says Megan.
