Midstream area and property guide

Safe, convenient and brimming with lifestyle and property options, it’s easy to see why Midstream is such a favourite with property shoppers.

About the area

Midstream residential area is located in the heart of Gauteng just about halfway between Pretoria and Joburg. With trouble-free access from the main arterials, the N1 to the west and the R21 on the east, the development’s central location is a major attraction for city dwellers in the hunt for a serene lifestyle close to the economic hubs of the province. Nearby neighbourhoods Centurion (north) and Midrand (south) are both approximately 15km away.

Midstream comprises a group of upper market residential estates, each with its own carefully designed recreational parks and lush green areas. Wildlife, catch-and-release fishing dams, a bird sanctuary, golf courses, cycling paths and walking trails are all aimed at creating a tranquil character with ample open space in an environment where safety is top of the priority list.

The suburb is self-sustained in the sense that it offers all the facilities essential for everyday living – from creches and pre-schools to primary schools and a high school, modern medical facilities including a full private hospital, churches representing a variety of denominations and an adequate diversity of shops and business services necessary for day-to-day requirements.

Sporting facilities in the estates deserve special mention. Encouraging a healthy way of life for residents of literally all ages, it includes splash pools, jungle gyms, swimming pools, volley ball, tennis and squash courts, cricket facilities, a mountain bike trail, indoor and outdoor bowling greens and, of course, golfing. Midstream Ridge boasts an exciting outdoor fitness trail, Practice on Art, where aesthetic design elements are utilised for physical exercise.

We love it because it’s a beautiful, relaxed, secure lifestyle in a self-contained community with our own churches, shops, garages, schools, sports facilities, hospital, clinic and retirement facilities.

Properties vary from trendy elegant townhouses to spacious country-style family homes and exquisite double-storey mansions. Comfortable houses and sectional title units for the retired are available at Retire at Midstream. Vacant stands and building packages are also available.

Each of the estates has its own Home Owners Association through which resident participation and community cohesion are managed and promoted.

"The proximity of facilities and amenities to each other is certainly convenient. It is also a neighbourhood where one can live throughout your whole life, from being a baby to being a senior citizen. The focus is on family life and the interests of residents are put first and foremost." Lin Rossouw, resident
