Soukop Property Group extends a warm welcome to Karen Browne who will be heading up their Commercial and Industrial Division.

Born and schooled in the UK, Karen moved to South Africa with her family as a young adult and not long after got a job as a sales agent in a business in Eshowe. “I loved it, 100%, from the beginning! The incredible satisfaction of putting someone into their own home!” she explains. Within six months Karen became a partner in that business, and on moving to KZN’s Upper Highway area a few years later, soon became manager of a real estate business there too.
With thirty-one years of real estate experience under her belt, Karen has worked for a number of prestigious national brands, and has the distinction of becoming one of KZN’s first female industrial broker in 1999 and the first female chairperson for SAPOA KZN in 2011.
On her introduction to industrial brokering in 1999, Karen discovered a new passion and she became involved with numerous developments and later commercial and retail brokering too. With projects such as the South Mall Extension, Gateway, Project Spice, Sugar Mill Industrial Park, Rejuvenation of the CBD, upgrades of Old Mutual Buildings such as Durban Bay House and the Marine Karen was delighted to win the SAPOA National Award for the Best Industrial Development in 2008 for her deal origination of the 34 000m2 under roof Mahogany Ridge Industrial Park, a turnkey project in conjunction with Afroprop.
With experience in all aspects of industrial, commercial, retail and residential property, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the Soukop Group.
