With its name coming from the geothermic hot springs around which the town was built, this area is also known by the name Warmbaths. Bela-Bela offers many things to do including excellent sport and recreation, Big Five game viewing, hiking, quad bikes and much more. The hot springs yield over 20 000 litres of water per hour at a temperature of 53ºC, and flow into the enclosed spa complex, where pools and spa treatment rooms are open to visitors. The areas surrounding the hot springs have been developed to provide a range of water sport facilities, including super tubes, speed slides, a wave pool, river ride, cable water ski-ing, and paddle boating.
This area provides an active, outdoor lifestyle with activities such as golf, horseback riding, angling at any of the surrounding dams, and scenic drives into the mountains being common activities for residents.
