Private Property Adds Android App to Mobile Offering

Property web giant, www.privateproperty.co.za, expanded their reach into the mobile phone market this week, with the launch of a new Android application for use with Smartphones. TThe new app is the third of its kind to be launched by the property site, complementing their previously released applications which are designed for the iPhone and Java-enabled devices. The application allows those with compatible mobile phones to pull specific data directly to their devices, without having to browse the website. The Android operating system was developed by Google, and currently runs on selected models of HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and other popular Smartphones. “The new application is another step forward on our road into the mobile property space,” says Oliver Manickum, Mobile Product Manager at Private Property. “We’re extremely pleased with the new application, and will be looking at growing our applications to be compatible with as many devices as possible.” According to Manickum, Private Property Smartphone applications are being downloaded on average of 3000 times per month, and it’s hoped that the addition of the Android app will further increase these figures. Private Property’s Mobi-site is also gaining in popularity, and currently receives an average of 150 000 unique visitors each month. “This figure is climbing steadily, and we’re putting a lot of effort into growing this side of our business,” says Manickum. “The potential for mobile marketing in South Africa is enormous, and we’re only just scratching the surface.” For more information and to get the Private Property Android application, browse to http://pprop.mobi on your Android-enabled Smartphone.
