Introducing Umnyama Ikhaya

Umnyama Ikhaya (Rainbow Homes), are an innovative company focussed on green, sustainable, modular off-the-grid housing.

Umnyama Ikhaya are proud to say that local government, council and Greenfin supports them. Production of their 30m2 Green Pod Homes starts 1st March 2016 and they simply cannot wait. Their factory is based in Paarl, Western Cape from where these pre-fabricated homes will be delivered nationally. They want to thank all for their amazing interest shown and they honestly believe that they have a “game changer” of a product. At present national sales agencies and distributors are being set up. Umnyama Ikhaya are committed to employment creation, by getting all levels of society involved in taking their product to the market. Furthermore they utilise the services of BEE registered builders for foundation purposes. Umnyama Ikhaya will only use builders local to a specific area. This way costs will be saved and people of a specific area will benefit.

Features of the pods:

Each one of these pods can sleep 1 – 4 individuals depending on configuration. They are passionate about upcycling and repurposed shipping containers as this is what they use as building blocks. The dimensions of their shipping containers as follow:

1) Height 2.90 Meter

2) Width 2,45 Meter

3) Length 12,19 Meter

Umnyama Ikhaya is not limited to these 30m2 Pods as they can also build large homes or sectional title developments. It is modular building at its best.
