200 Real Estate Learnerships available for aspiring estate agents

Interested in becoming an estate agent? Seeff is offering learnership opportunities countrywide to those looking to enter the profession.

The Seeff Property Group has launched over 200 Real Estate Learnership opportunities countrywide. Ronel Bornman, Seeff’s National HRD Manager says that these are rare opportunities to enable those looking to enter the real estate profession, especially BEE candidates to get into the industry.

Seeff Training Academy

The Seeff Training Academy has secured bursaries from the Services SETA which will enable candidates to navigate their one year internship period and receive training, guidance and preparation to ultimately enable them to obtain the FETC: Real Estate NQF Level 4 qualification. The Seeff Structured Intern Programme is an integrated programme which Ms Bornman advises covers all aspects of the real estate business, from an understanding of the real estate environment to relevant legislation, all aspects of marketing, selling and leasing, all documentation and contracts pertaining to real estate transactions and communication and self-development.

The programme assists learners throughout the internship period including preparation of the required Log Book and finally helps them prepare for the Professional Designate Exam (PDE).

Ms Bornman says that Seeff has run a number of these programmes over the last five years with great success and many of the candidates have remained with Seeff and have gone on to achieve great success. The opportunities are across the board covering all aspects of real estate, whether you ultimately want to go into sales, rentals, or even commercial property.

Shortage of new real estate agents

Fanie Marais, Seeff Licensee for the Welgedacht and Durbanville areas says that his doors are open for new candidates and there is currently a shortage of new entrants in his area. We are urgently look for new people to enter the industry which offers one of the most empowering and rewarding careers. This industry has changed many people's lives, he adds.

Testimonials

One such candidate is Megan Schultz who started with the Seeff Welgedacht branch three years ago with no prior real estate experience although she came from a sales background. Today, she is an Achiever Agent. Megan says that the Seeff training programme and support system have been invaluable to enabling her to become a top achiever. The Seeff brand is an ideal choice for those who want a successful career in real estate, she adds.

Cayenne Caris is another candidate who only started in August 2016 and is today an achiever rental agent with Seeff Welgedacht. She managed to finish 8th out of 328 rental agents nationwide and she attributes her success directly to the ongoing training, support and facilities offered by the brand.

Anéne Botha, another recipient of a bursary to complete the NQF4 course through the Seeff Academy, passed her PDE exam last year and is already an achiever agent. She says that being able to offer such a prestigious and well-known brand to clients is part of her success. Another achiever agent, Ashleigh Fraser, who only joined in 2015 also attributes her success to the ongoing training which also helps agents to keep clients updated on all matters related to the property industry, from legislation to financial.

Why to enter a career in real estate?

Marais says that one of the advantages of making use of this opportunity to enter a career in real estate, is that you can earn while you learn.
