Located in Germiston, Gauteng, Sunnyridge Primary School offers its learners a head start towards academic achievement. Sunnyridge Primary School is centrally-situated near to all modern conveniences within the suburb. Operating within an ethos of providing the best education for learners, Sunnyridge strives to give every child the best foundation before they move on to high school. This is achieved through the creation of the ideal learning environment – an atmosphere of love, care and empathy underpinning the daily lives of every learner.
The curriculum is taught by dedicated teachers who give practical applicability to the school’s ethos every day, as well as helping to develop skills that will be useful throughout their futures. As a result of this, many learners with a Sunnyridge foundation have gone on to excel in tertiary study and as professionals.
Cultural diversity is embraced and nurtured at Sunnyridge. It is celebrated within the school, which has become an active part of the community for its attitude of inclusivity and its sense of social responsibility. Learners at Sunnyridge are given cognisance of the fact that there are many people out there who are less fortunate than themselves, and are given an opportunity to participate in community initiatives that benefit all involved. As a part of this, Sunnyridge and the Full Gospel Church run a food scheme.
Outside of the classroom, learners at Sunnyridge Primary School are given a number of opportunities to discover and develop their talents. The school is involved in the Soweto Carnival, Heritage Week for their foundation phase learners, as well as putting on foundation phase and intersen phase concerts.
As an extension of this, extra-mural activities are viewed as a fundamental part of learner development. A number of sporting and cultural activities are on offer, and learners are encouraged and supported as they pursue their involvement on a regional and national level.
