South Africa's expensive property nodes revealed

While the City of Gold has always attracted those wishing to earn the highest salaries, Cape Town boasts the most exclusive properties with the highest price tags. The natural beauty of the city’s mountains and coast is a major draw card, attracting celebrities from all over the world – especially as the exchange rate makes even SA’s most expensive real estate more affordable.

The Atlantic seaboard, from Green Point to Camp’s Bay, is the trendiest of Cape Town’s seaside real estate. Along this stretch, Clifton and Bantry Bay are the most expensive suburbs. Llandudno and Hout Bay, further along the coast towards Chapman’s Peak, are also luxurious and expensive.

Close to the city centre, the world-famous V&A Waterfront is South Africa’s most expensive residential resort with over 80 immaculate properties valued at between R2.5-million and R11-million.

Other suburbs where property carries a hefty price-tag include Constantia with its rural charm, and Bishopscourt under Table Mountain. Further south towards Cape Point, from Noordhoek to Simon’s Town, properties can fetch well over R3-million. And the city’s northern suburbs are also contenders, with Tygerberg Hills properties fetching as much as R6-million.

This superb home is in the heart of Constantia Valley and has outstanding views of the Vlakkenberg Mountains.

Sandhurst holds the top spot, followed by Chiselhurston, Dunkeld West, Bryanston and Sandown. Hyde Park, Westcliff, Wierda Valley and Illovo complete the multimillion-rand neighbourhood round-up.
