Local Westville agents discuss what the property market in this Durban neighbourhood is doing.
What do you love about Westville?
Why I have personally loved living in "the garden suburb" of Westville for the past 36 years is because it is so central to everything. Even when the airport moved to the north coast, it made very little difference to us. Having The Pavilion on our doorstep and an excellent medical centre and hospital means that we have everything that we need on our doorstep. Places of worship cater for all denominations, so we attract families where business and home priorities can be easily satisfied. I know I am biased, but I can confidently say that Westville literally has it all.

What makes Westville stand out among Durban's suburbs?
I grew up in Westville and have been with Maxprop for the past 30 years, so I feel well-qualified when talking about our area. Close to all amenities, Westville is picturesque, wooded and offers some of the best schools in the country. It also boasts excellent medical facilities, with superb sporting and shopping facilities. Elevated sufficiently to escape the intense coastal humidity, the climate is near perfect. The buildings are a bold mix of modern and traditional and cater for all tastes and pockets. Utopia? Not quite, but it’s like living in the country where values are still high and neighbourliness still paramount.
