An analysis of the time that property spends on the market has revealed the fastest selling areas on PrivateProperty.
The area in which property is sold the fastest is Pretoria where a property is sold in 51 days on average. This result is unsurprising since Pretoria is a high demand area which consistently shows a large number of searches and listings on our site.
The area which is second in terms of time on market is Rustenburg. Again this is a high demand area which is reportedly the fastest growing city in South Africa.
The top 3 is rounded off by Polokwane in the Limpopo Province.
Slowest selling areas on PrivateProperty
The areas in South Africa where properties stay on the market for the longest are Nelspruit, Langebaan and Hermanus. In these areas property stays on the market for around 100 days.
There areas have low demand which is evidenced by the relatively small number of searches on our site compared to the areas at the top of the list.
Whether the time on market is due to a smaller pool of buyers or an oversupply of property, you will have to work a bit harder in these areas to make a sale. Marketing your agency aggressively, making sure you list your property online and making sure your property photos and descriptions show the property in the best possible light, will help you stand out from the competition and get a quicker sale.
