The composition of the design was influenced by the L-shaped site with beautiful lagoon views to the East and large trees, as well as the Northern aspect to the property. The building was raised above the water table associated with erven along the lagoon.

The design of the home is in a contemporary classical style. A main feature being the tall picture windows designed with classical and rhythmic proportions. The tiled roofs were designed as a collection of pitch minor elements linked with concrete slabs, which also served the purpose of reducing the scale of the dwelling in the country-like setting.

In order to create a sense of arrival, a central court was incorporated of garages and a double volume entrance porch leading off from the courtyard.
