Its position on the crown of one of the foothills of the Limietberg mountains commands views over the lands and plains below, giving a distinct Out of Africa feeling.

The property has a 10ha game fenced camp, 12ha of arable dry-land, and a flock of pasture-raised sheep. Farm hens roam the gardens and supply the kitchens with eggs.

Boplaas is entitled to an annual registered water allocation of 166 260 m3, derived from the Limiet River (51 450 m3) and groundwater (114 810m3) - taken from five boreholes. Water is also stored in cement reservoirs, Jo-Jo tanks and earthen dams (which are stocked with Bass and Tilapia for catch-and-release fishing).
