The Moditlo Estate is 12 km from Hoedspruit on the R 40. The magnificent Northern Drakensberg Mountains forms the backdrop of the reserve. Moditlo is superbly located just 30 km from the Kruger National Park and borders Kapama Game Reserve to its eastern side, the Drakensberg Mountains to its west and falls into the southern/central region of the Greater Kruger biosphere. The reserve is home to the Big Four consisting of Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Elephant. Plains game are numerous and include Kudu, Giraffe, Zebra, Nyala and Waterbuck amongst others. There is also Cheetah, Wild Dog and Hyena on the Estate. The estate has two seasonal rivers running through it, the Mbezi and the Moditlo. Vegetation on the reserve varies from riverine to open plains with a magnificent variety of trees including, Knobthorn, Marula, Leadwood, Weeping Boer Bean and Wild Fig.
