Ravenswood retirement village is located on the west bank of the Kowie River in the sea side town of Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is situated in George Street at the corner of Southwell Road. Our village is conveniently close to the central business district area, Rosehill Mall, the hospital, Royal Port Alfred Golf Club, Kelleys blue flag beach and the navigable Kowie River. The small boat harbour at the Royal Alfred Marina offers safe berthing for leisure boats including sea going vessels.
For sportsmen and women there is the Royal Port Alfred Golf club, two bowling clubs and an active tennis and croquet clubs.
Ravenswood is a sectional title village of 42 cottages of varying sizes as well as a community centre with library, all with established gardens. As soon as one enters our village and sees the green and white cottages one experiences a pleasant ambience. Because of the modest number of homes our village tends to be quieter and new friendships can be developed quickly.
Each home owner or tenant at Ravenswood has the services of either of the two village gardeners two half days per month and a gardening company cuts and trims the lawns at regular intervals. There is a high level of security in Ravenswood Village which includes 12 CCTV cameras as well as walls and electric fencing on all boundaries.

The nurse is on call 24/7, but outside her working hours, a fee of R200.00 is charged for a call-out.
Ravenswood village is a sectional title development started approximately 20 years ago. All building operations have ceased which contributes to the peace and security at Ravenswood Village. The 42 bungalows range in size from 77 to 177 sq. m. The smaller units have a lounge, open plan kitchen, en suite bathroom, bedroom, covered verandah and single garage.
