Location

The farm is situated just off the R75 near Jansenville and approximately 140km from Uitenhage and 170km from Port Elizabeth.

Size

Made up of a single title, the farm is just over 60ha in extent.

Description

The property is typical of the mixed Valley Bushveld biome and Noorsveld plus Karoo biome common to the Jansenville district. One of the main features of the property is the seasonal Brak River with +- 1km of river frontage and some interesting rock formations along one short section of cliffs. Initially flat, and then sloping gently upwards towards the northern boundary, it has just enough undulating topography to make it interesting and diverse, while still remaining easily accessible by vehicle. The current owners are utilizing the farm for game, cattle and small livestock farming. Although considered an excellent lifestyle option, the farm has extremely well, developed infrastructure and could be utilized for an eco-tourism destination or outfitters base camp.

Veld types

The southern, front portion of the farm is mostly flat to stepped with the characteristic, well drained, sandy soils common to this region. It is here that there is a large concentration of massive acacia karoo or sweet thorn trees all along the banks of the Brak River. Where the light penetrates the canopy of these sweet thorn trees is a healthy concentration of sweet buffalo grass or panicum grass. The game often frequents this area and this offers great game viewing opportunities since a large viewing deck looks out over this area.

Climbing out of the river bed to the north we have a series of gentle hills which are bisected by a central valley and the respective slopes are all well wooded with the following tree species: common guarri, jacket plum, boer bean (schotia), shepards tree and acacia karoo. As discussed being a Noorsveld area the noors euphorbia is also in abundance along with the various Karoo herbs and shrubs plus sweet veld grazing.

This property has been conservatively stocked and well managed as is evident in the quality and quantity of both available browse and grazing.
