About Us

Marto Lafitte and Associates was founded in 1995.

The firm comprises of approximately 25 staff and five attorneys. We specialise in 4 main areas of law: Property Law (including conveyancing), civil litigation, commercial law and administration of estates.

We see ourselves as problem-solvers. We offer a more personalised service while still maintaining a necessary degree of specialisation. The success of the company as a whole is based on the fact that we are more proactive, flexible and service orientated.

• PROPERTY AND CONVEYANCING

Our firm is completely geared up to offer a complete property law service.

The department specializes in conventional and sectional title transfers, registration and cancellation of mortgage bonds, opening of sectional title registers and proclamation of townships, land consolidations and sub-divisions and servitudes.

We are on panels of Nedbank, Standard Bank, FNB and Mercantile Bank.

• CIVIL LITIGATION

We specialize in:

• property related litigation including contractual disputes, landlord and tenant, evictions, building disputes and agency;

• bank collections and foreclosures;

• contractual and commercial related civil litigation;

• insurance law.

We attend to Magistrate’s Court and High Court Litigation, as well as arbitrations.

• COMMERCIAL and COMPANY LAW

We advise our clients on a broad range of commercial transactions. We draft and advise our clients on contracts including : Sale and lease agreements; Shareholder, joint venture agreements and company structures to both local and foreign clients; Company documents; Credit agreements.
