Plascon Global Colour Manager Anne Roselt provides some insight to the effects of colour in the bedroom.
We spend about a third of our lives sleeping, so naturally you want to enjoy doing that! Therefore the bedroom is a very important space. Plascon's Global Colour Manager, Anne Roselt, says how we sleep affects our mood and general wellbeing, so you want a room where you can relax and feel comfortable.
"Colour has a huge effect on you and the room, for instance blue is calming and can help you sleep better where red is a very energetic colour and can keep you awake!" Did you know that light blue can also keep away headaches?
Anne says the biggest mistake that people make is to use too much of one colour.
"Find references of things you like and use different colours to find a balance. Balance bright colours with neutrals, and add more to neutral tones with textures in the room. Decide what atmosphere you want in the room. For example, pick out a colour from a décor piece in your room and use that colour to pull everything together."
Sounds like valuable advice that our contestants took note of! Rudolph has picked out green and grey colours in an artwork to work through in his room, while Juané has decided to stay with her soft and neutral In The Mood colour choice from the guest bedroom. Minenhle had quite a few colour choices ranging in shades of dark green to light lemon green to use for his feature wall. Now we wait for the final product!
