See the world’s best hockey players in action

As a proud sponsor of the South African Women’s Hockey team, Private Property is looking forward to the upcoming Hockey World League Semi-Finals 2017, where our national hockey teams will pit themselves against the very best hockey players in the world, on local soil.

The Hockey World League Semi-Finals 2017 will be held at Wits Hockey Club from 8th to 23rd July 2017. The tournament will see twenty of the best men’s and women’s teams globally take part in these Hockey World Cup 2018 qualifiers. There are FIH Hero World Ranking points on offer, so this is an important event for those teams wanting to qualify for the 2018 Hockey World Cup and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Hockey fans can expect a number of hugely exciting matches over 16 days as world-class hockey teams battle for supremacy.

Teams in the women’s tournament:

  • Pool A: England, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Poland.
  • Pool B: Argentina, USA, South Africa, India, Chile.

Teams in the men’s tournament:

  • Pool A: Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Japan, France.
  • Pool B: Germany, Belgium, South Africa, Ireland, Egypt.

Our national teams need your support

SA Hockey is calling on support from schools and the hockey community to make the event BIG, BOLD, PACKED and LOUD. The plan is host an event that is fan-focused, youth-centric, fresh and an all-round fantastic experience. There’s not just top-quality hockey on offer – the event promises a wide range of entertainment for all ages. Fans can also expect Artisanal food, beer gardens for the parents, retail therapy for those that need it, live music, meet the players AND entertainment for the kids

SA Hockey will soon be announcing a South African first in the provision of food and beverage services at a sporting event for all 16 days of The Hockey World League Semi-Finals. Say goodbye to the standard chips and boerewors rolls and hello to artisan food stalls and home style dishes. The hardest decision you will face is “Coffee to the right?” or “Hockey to the left?”

Being held at The Wits Education Campus in Parktown, this venue offers spectators free secure parking.

Early bird tickets available to hockey schools and clubs

SA Hockey is offering the local hockey family, exclusive school group bookings to schools who wish to make group bookings for their students and broader community.

This exclusive offer will allow schools to make group bookings and retain 10% of the total booking fee.

Space is limited! For any queries or to confirm your booking please contact Jamie Chisholm (jamie@frontierssa.com) by the 15th of June 2017.
