South Africa’s favourite décor and design reality show Win A Home will welcome renowned interior designer David Muirhead as a guest judge for the show’s master bedroom reveal on Friday, 15 September.
David is well-known for his Sandton-based consultancy; David Muirhead & Associates (DM &A) which specialises in residential and hospitality projects across the globe. DM&A was the creative force behind the total re-design of the old Grace Hotel in Rosebank, launched as Tsogo Sun’s boutique hotel 54 on Bath. The team was also involved in the refurbishment of the Palazzo Hotel interiors in Fourways, and the legendary Beverly Hills in Umhlanga Rocks.
The Parkmore resident of 15 years, David began an extended phase in his career with the launch of Fine Living. In a significant contribution to the suburb’s retail hub, Fine Living combines an interior design consultancy with a boutique events venue.
The interiors guru is passionate about the city of Jo’burg and the upgrading of the urban landscape. His hallmark style combines high glamour with both comfort and luxury. From boutique hotels and game lodges to bespoke private homes, he is skilled at interpreting the desires of every client.
An inspirational figure for any upcoming interior designer, David’s strongest advice for the Win A Home contestants is to ‘Never ever give up’.
Muirhead will be joining season four regular judges, Donald Nxumalo (DNX Design Studio) and Katlego Kondlo (Plascon) at the stunning location for this year’s competition, the Eye of Africa Golf and Residential Estate, where he will review the designers’ master bedroom challenge.
