We believe partnerships are the key to success. Private Property is privileged and proud to be partnering with our national women’s hockey team on their path to sporting success.
Hockey is the 2nd most played sport in the world after football/soccer and certainly one of the biggest women’s sports in South Africa. As a result there is a large grassroots following for the sport, thousands of young people playing at clubs and at school level. These are the same families that we see coming to Private Property searching for their next home. So the fit between SA Women’s Hockey and Private Property is certainly there.
SAW Hockey are currently gearing up to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics and will be taking part in the World League tournament in Valencia Spain from June 10-21 as part of their qualification campaign. The top three teams in Valencia qualify for Rio. Should teams not qualify in Valencia for Rio, they can still do so through their continental championships.
It is inspiring to be affiliated with such a passionate and motivated group of young women. All the young women are degreed graduates or are currently furthering their academic studies. They also invest an extraordinary amount of effort in their sport and as hockey is not a professional sport their involvement often requires huge personal sacrifices.
We look forward to working with the team over the coming months, and hopefully years, in sharing this exciting journey with them.
