RE/MAX of Southern Africa did the nation proud by claiming the title of Region of the Year at RE/MAX’s 45th annual R4 Convention in Las Vegas.
The convention saw more than 6,500 real estate agents and brokers from over 60 different countries gather at MGM Grand in Las Vegas from 26 February to 01 March 2018 for a week of back-to-back seminars, networking events, and award ceremonies.
Held annually, the convention is a show-stopping event that brings all the pieces of the RE/MAX puzzle together to form one balloon-sized picture of red, white and blue. Since its inception 45 years ago, the RE/MAX network has experienced exponential growth, beginning with just one local agent in the US and expanding into an ever-growing global network of more than 115,000 estate agents and brokers in over 97 countries worldwide. Last year alone saw more than 7,000 agents join the network, with an agent count outside the home base U.S. and Canadian regions receiving an increase of 17.8 percent.
Competing within the Middle East and Africa category at this year’s convention, RE/MAX of Southern Africa – a region consisting of over 2,400 agents operating from over 175 offices and licensed in 10 countries in Southern Africa – won the Region of the Year award for its exceptional performance over the course of 2017.
The award took a number of factors into consideration, including aspects such as net agent and office gain, total franchise sales, overall participation (corporate responsibility initiatives and inter-region support), professionalism, brand presence and other relevant categories.
“We are incredibly proud of all our agents, brokers and staff for their efforts toward helping us achieve this award. RE/MAX of Southern Africa had a great year in 2017, which ended with a record sales month in December that totaled over R2.8 billion in sales; our best sales month ever. This year, we aim to continue our growth, and look forward to the challenge of exceeding the figures reached in 2018,” concludes Regional Director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa.
