During 2013, RE/MAX of Southern Africa broke numerous sales records, and throughout 2014 sales have been strong.
However, during September 2014, the group achieved a new record of R2-billion-worth of sales in one month. This is, according to Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, the first time ever in the 20-year history of the company that such a high monthly sales figure has been recorded.__
“Not even in the boom years did we achieve numbers like this. We firmly believe that these kinds of sales results are only possible due to the various tools and services that we provide our estate agents that equip them to thrive and succeed in their business,” says Adrian.
RE/MAX franchisees and real estate professionals have access to extensive local and international training from RE/MAX Global Learning Centre, as well as many other technological tools and resources, such as the Referral Maker CRM programme and the online customisable marketing toolkit, Design Centre. “It is benefits such as these that have enabled our passionate and professional network of real estate professionals to perform well above industry norms, despite the continued challenging economic climate.”
RE/MAX of Southern Africa currently boasts over 2 100 agents within the fold across 160 offices, which gives it the widest real estate footprint across the country. The group has achieved R14.7-billion in sales this year to date, meaning an average of R1.6-billion in residential home sales has been achieved each month. “This brings us very close to exceeding our target of R20-billion in sales for the 2014 period,” says Adrian.
Market share
RE/MAX of Southern Africa has around 18% market share locally, which Adrian says replicates the US numbers. “In the United States, RE/MAX has just 5% of the agent population working under the brand, but has around 17% market share. This means that RE/MAX agents average twice the amount of home sales as their closest competitors in the States. The same trend can be seen in the South African market, and our sales results prove it. I believe we are now the number one real estate group in Southern Africa in agent numbers and sales figures.”
He points out that the number of registered transactions generated by RE/MAX of Southern Africa during this year is up 18% on 2013 nationally. Broken down provincially, Gauteng’s figures are up 18% on the 2013 period mirroring the national trend, while the Western Cape saw a bigger growth with registered transactions up by 28% on the 2013 numbers.
During the last months of this year, Adrian expects the brand’s sales results to continue on their current path as the team of dedicated, professional and passionate agents – who all have an average of 13 years of real estate experience – continue to provide home buyers and sellers in the southern Africa region with phenomenal service. “We have the strength and support of a successful international brand driving our success and providing access to excellent training material and other support services. It really is the high level of training that enables our agents to maintain such high levels of customer service,” he concludes.
