Jawitz Properties takes pride of place in its new sweet spot in Cape Town’s City Bowl.
Bustling Bree Street in Cape Town is now the new home of the Jawitz Properties City Bowl Office. Situated at 164 Bree Street, neighbouring DVD Nouveau and opposite and diagonally across from culinary and caffeinated delights, Café Frank and Jason’s Bakery, Jawitz Properties takes pride of place in its new sweet spot. The only residential estate agency on Bree Street, the office is well positioned for passing trade and is a central, and a refreshed base for this well-established brand.
Jawitz Properties is a household name in real estate, and last year the building in which the office was situated for ten years was sold, and at long last, a new trendy Bree Street address secured. The new premises, previously occupied by Boss Models is iconic and synonymous with well-respected brands.
“We couldn’t be happier with the new location and waited a long time to find the right home for our City Bowl office,” says Francois Venter, Director of Jawitz Properties. “We needed a space that mirrored our brand – well-known but growing, and the location is a perfect fit.” A display area for properties for sale is on show at street level, and just up the grey stairway leads to the office entrance, with Table Mountain watching over in all her glory.
The office itself beautifully blends old with new, and is painted bright white, featuring checkered flooring in part, with various levels, twists and turns to accommodate agents and administrative staff, boasting bespoke details, such as the original doorways of the building, mixed with more modern conveniences and clever partitioning. “There really is a feeling of space,” says Glenda Luitingh, Manager of Jawitz Properties City Bowl. “We have established agents and fresh talent working across City Bowl and surrounds, but with room to grow. We now have the office to accommodate this growth and are looking to expand our network of agents even further.”
The Mother City moves
Joining the First Thursdays revolution, Jawitz Properties City Bowl will be among participating businesses in the Mother City’s monthly art gallery crawl, where Cape Town comes to life in a different way – businesses extend their hours while restaurants and bars sizzle. Gallery Momo, for example, is a stone’s throw away in parallel Buitengracht Street, while galleries in Church Street and Bree Street itself are just a short walk away from the new Jawitz premises. “As members of the Cape Town community, it is fantastic to be a part of this growing part of Cape Town’s nightlife,” Luitingh adds. “The city continues to be a place of exceptional growth, particularly in the property industry.”
According to Propstats, the total value of sales in the City Bowl has increased by 10.6% when looking at sales from 1 January to 31 May 2016 compared to the same period this year. The total value has increased from R794,563,926 to R879,089,500. Units sold are also up for the same period of comparison from 218 in 2016 to 221 in 2017, indicating steady growth. The average selling price has increased as well, by 9.1%. The average selling price from 1 January 2016 to 31 May 2016 was R3,644,789 and for the same period in 2017, has risen to R3,977,781.
“It was important for us as a brand to be represented on the ground, and our presence in Bree Street has been most welcomed. The office location is great for agents and clients alike – walking distance to many parts of the Mother City – a central hub for all your real estate needs whether you are buying or selling, or looking to rent,” Venter concludes.
