The Reserve is home to several indigenous animals, occasionally the Cape Mountain leopard. The reserve has abundant birdlife. The property is at the foot of a mountain and has several established private hiking routes on the mountain property. There are also magnificent examples of ancient San rock art at several sites on the reserve.

Ochre House is located in the Ochre Reserve. It is a unique property in a unique setting, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, perched on top of a mountain spur. The main house has three en-suite bedrooms with stackable doors allowing access to the breath-taking surroundings. A spacious and open plan living area, again with stackable doors and large windows, opens on a large outdoor entertainment area and deck with a sunken swimming pool. The main living area features a large fireplace a defining feature of the room. A granite-topped counter separates the living area from a comfortable open plan kitchen. In addition to the living area, there is a guest bathroom, foyer / television room, separate office topped up by a state-of-the-art wine cellar accessed by a recessed staircase from the inside of the house.

In addition to the main house, find Ochre Cottage. Near the main house, the cottage has magnificent vistas and features similar stackable glass doors. It offers a large en-suite bedroom, a spacious living area with a kitchenette and guest toilet.

One hectare of the property surrounding the homestead is completely fenced. Access to the property has two remote controlled gates, one at the entrance to the property off the tarred road and one at the fence surrounding the homestead. The property has a water allocation of 10 000 cubic meters per annum and the water supply to the property is gravity feed.
