About RE/MAX, RE/MAX Sellect
The office of RE/MAX SELL-ECT is ideally located with the prime areas of Phoenix on the right and Mount Edgecombe on the left. These areas are situated just north of Durban and forms part of Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa.
Phoenix , some 20km northwest of central Durban, was established as a township in 1976. It is said to be one of the oldest Indian settlements in South Africa, with indentured labourers from sugar cane plantations making their homes here decades ago.
Today Phoenix is a thriving community. It’s clear locals draw comfort in the sameness of day-to-day living. If you’re from Phoenix, it’s likely your neighbours have never changed, the kids from next door are a familiar sight in your back yard and there’s no harm in borrowing some sugar when you run out. You can always expect a parcel of homemade goodies for Christmas, Diwali or Eid.
There’s a tangible sense of community rarely found in the other suburbs. For locals, Phoenix isn’t just somewhere to live, but where many have seen their kids grow up, where they’ve gossiped with neighbours over the fence, planted trees and extended their houses into real homes.
But today, many of these “houses” have grown into magnificent structures, thanks to the thrift and hard work of their owners. And it’s not just the houses that have evolved. Infrastructure is being upgraded constantly, as evidenced by the revamped Phoenix Plaza and other shopping centres in the Parthenon Street area. Phoenix can also lay claim to a number of schools, sports grounds, libraries, halls and public swimming pools. It’s a well-developed area by standards.
Mount Edgecombe is a more recently developed area. The name is derived from the Earl of Mount Edgecombe from Cornwall United Kingdom. Mount Edgecombe is famous for its golf estates.
The areas of Mount Edgecombe extend beyond the boundaries of the golf estates. The surrounding homes enjoy the freedom of not been bound to the regulations of the golf estate yet can enjoy a good game of golf on the estate.
Mount Edgecombe has become the attraction for up market spacious family homes while still enjoying the scenery, privacy and calm away from the busy metropolitan areas yet stilling enjoying the urban pleasures associated with the Gateway Shopping Centre.
RE/MAX SELL-ECT is also well positioned and markets in the surrounding areas: Broadlands, Avoca, Glen Anil, Sunningdale and extends upwards closely to La Lucia ,Glenashley, Gateway, Verulam and downwards towards Newlands East, Newlands West.
