800 ha Farm in Villiersdorp

Established Fruit and Grain/Stock Farm and is part of the Groenland Conservancy

This 800-hectare mixed farm is located in the Villersdorp/Botriver area, near the towns of Grabouw, Villiersdorp, and Bot River. It is a driving distance to Hermanus and Franschhoek.

The farm consists of 30.09 hectares of fruit, 250 hectares of grain/stock, and 520 hectares of natural veld that is part of the Groenland Conservancy. The Bot River and the Paardevlei run through the farm.

The fruit trees include 19.7 hectares of apples (Gala, Goldens, Big Bucks, Fuji, Grannies, Pink Lady, Sundowner), 7.81 hectares of pears (Cheeky, Abate Fetel, Rosemary, Forelle, Packhams), and 3.48 hectares of peaches (Keise, Sandvliet). The apples and pears are packed and marketed by a well-known packing company in Grabouw.

The 250 hectares of dry land are leased out.

The farm has 3 boreholes and 2 dams. The main dam gets water from a borehole and the Paardevlei River. The farm has registered water rights for 81 hectares.

90% of the irrigation is micro irrigation and 10% is drip irrigation.

The farm infrastructure includes a main house, sheds, stores, and staff housing.
