Property Buyer Show 2018 Cape Town | Exciting new developments in Somerset West

Private Property chats with Jason Hutton, Property Consultant at Harcourts Platinum, to discuss the latest property developments in Somerset West.

Marc:

Hey guys so I’ve got Jason here from Harcourts Platinum here at the Cape Town Property Buyer Show.

So tell us about your experience here at the Property Buyer Show?

Jason:

Yeah. How's it, Mark? We're based out in Somerset West. And this is the first time that we've done the Property Show. We found that it's been really busy. Actually blown away by the amount of people that have been coming through. And we found that it's been a really nice platform to launch some of our new developments that we've got in the Helderberg Basin. And the reason we decided to do the Property Show was because we're finding in our area, in Somerset West, that we're getting a lot of people that are coming down from Joburg, coming from Cape Town, coming from Durban that are moving to Somerset West. It's becoming a very popular destination. So we thought this would be the right platform to continue pushing that interest.

Marc:

So tell us a bit about the properties that you're promoting here. Tell me a bit more about them.

Jason:

Mark, we're actually promoting Combined Developers which are a large development company that are well established. They've been in Durbanville for many, many years. And we're promoting two new developments that are in some Somerset West. One is called D'Stellen, it's about two minutes away from Somerset College which is obviously one of the best colleges in South Africa. It's 33 freestanding homes in the gates of the state, set in the Winelands so you're surrounded by vineyards. And our pricing is around the 4.2 to 4.7 million around mark. And then the second property that we are promoting is Hathersage which is in the heart of Somerset West. Beautiful location. Also, it's on the Hathersage Farm, so it's also surrounded by vineyards but very close to some of the best schools that Somerset West has to offer. And there, the civils are in. There's people living there already. We're about 33% sold out. And those free standing homes are selling from 2.955 up to around 3.4 million around.
