Rising demand for homes in trendy Linden

Linden has become one of Johannesburg’s trendiest and most-sought after suburbs with buyers becoming increasingly attracted to its cosmopolitan and community-oriented lifestyle.

Area specialist, Kevin Till, says Linden is fast becoming Johannesburg’s new Parkhurst with its burgeoning restaurant, café and bar scene.

“Linden’s central location, well-sized, value for money homes and up-and-coming cultural scene has seen many people ‘migrating’ from Parkhurst to the area. Parkhurst stand sizes are typically around 450 sqm. Homes in Linden are double that, offering 900 sqm and the prices are incomparable in terms of affordability.” Once a primarily Afrikaans area, Linden has become one of the city’s youngest and most culturally diverse areas with people from a variety of backgrounds, nationalities and faiths now calling the area home.

Kevin says Linden’s central location adds to its appeal.
“Linden is well-situated close to the Randburg, Sandton and Rosebank CBD’s, Cresta Shopping Centre, Delta Park as well as several good schools including De la Salle Holy Cross, King David Victory Park, Greenside High School, Hoerskool Linden, Reddford House, Northcliff High, Laerskool Louw Geldenhuys and Holy Cross.”

He says another key attraction among buyers is Linden’s diverse range of properties from large standalone homes, to clusters, townhouses and apartments.

Linden has quickly become a hotspot for young couples, families and professionals seeking great value, space, convenience, good security and a strong sense of community.”

He says the turnaround time for sales in the area is excellent.

“Young people are flocking to the area and we have experienced such high demand, stock typically sits on the market for very short periods of time which is remarkable in this market.” Kevin says he is currently selling and leasing some exceptional homes in the area.

“We currently have some great stock. A highlight of which is a unique cluster-style home ideal for starter couples, professional singles or stylish retirees. The home offers 2 bedrooms and open-plan living areas which flow onto a beautifully appointed covered patio complete with fireplace and adjoining outdoor boma leading to a sparkling pool. The home boasts top finishes throughout including restored original pressed ceilings and tasteful whitewashed wooden floors, interspersed with retro black and white checked tiled floors. The home also features state-of-the-art security. Contact me for a viewing as this home won’t be on the market for long!”
