Kingfisher Private School – Academic Excellence Offered Close to the Big Five

Beautifully situated next to Kruger National Park, a few kilometres from the Phalaborwa Gate, Kingfisher Private School is a values-based school, committed to the attainment of every learner’s fullest potential.

Kingfisher Private School offers IEB education, via English-medium instruction, in an environment based on Christian principles. It is against this backdrop of care, respect and integrity that learners are given the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education that fulfils the various needs of every individual.

The classroom environment at Kingfisher encourages learners to extend themselves, while highly-qualified teachers provide the guidance and insight into lessons that provide them with confidence and fervour for learning. This is an undeniable factor in the school’s high ranking amongst other private, IEB and ISASA schools. The facilities on offer at the school make every facet of the school days even more meaningful and comfortable. From classrooms to sports fields, every effort has been taken to provide and maintain the ideal environment, conducive to the highest level of learning. For those learners identified as needing assistance, the school has an Occupational Therapist on campus twice a week.

Kingfisher Private School caters for Grade 000 to 12. The Pre-Preparatory School focuses on holistic development of every child in a fun and enriching environment. The advent into Junior Preparatory sees a comprehensive introduction to Numeracy and Literacy, and continual assessment ensures that learners garner the best foundation for their graduation to the next level. Senior Preparatory is the learners’ formal introduction to individual learning areas and skills that will prepare them for high school. The College learners at Kingfisher matriculate with an internationally-recognised IEB qualification. Learners are offered a range of subject choices to complement their talents and shape their futures. An enjoyable element of the Senior Primary and College phases is the informative excursions the school is lucky enough to offer by virtue of its location.

The extra-curricular activities at Kingfisher are also divided in terms of age and focus. Cultural activities and social responsibility practices are viewed as a fundamental part of the school life of every learner at the school. Many of the cultural activities are viewed as having a profound academic impact, as well as playing an independent role in character development and the growth of talent. With a current pupil having received an invitation to the International Science Fair, including a visit to NASA, Kingfisher is proud of the opportunities presented to learners that excel in all areas. Amongst the school’s successful past pupils is Cilliers Brink of the DA Youth.

In line with Kingfisher’s Christian ethos, the school is progressive in terms of outreach. Each grade undertakes an annual community project, while the entire school is involved in different projects every term. The whole school participates in charity walks. These initiatives benefit a number of deserving causes, whilst generating awareness and a charitable character in Kingfisher learners.
