A local tells us about Broadacres

As one of Johannesburg’s up-and-coming northern suburbs, Broadacres attracts buyers from all walks of life.

The area comprises sectional title and cluster homes with accessible entry- and mid-level prices. For the past six months, this has been home to Robynn Niemack who lives with her mother and daughter who relocated from Shelley Beach.

“I fell in love with Broadacres almost four years ago when I was asked to assist at the Virgin Active Club with Zumba fitness classes.”

She says while she enjoyed the modern convenience of the suburb, it was the peace and calm of the area that resonated with her most, adding that Broadacres is also aesthetically pleasing.

“Broadacres is secure and law enforcement is visible, so even when I am driving around at night I feel safe.”

Broadacres is also close to a number of schools, entertainment and shopping facilities including Broadacres Lifestyle Centre, Cedar Square, Fourways Mall and Dainfern Square, among others.

She says that Broadacres is a gem that you have to stop and enjoy, pointing out that she has always been keen to know the area’s history. She says she enjoys its lifestyle, culture and people, too. She took a walk through the Broadacres centre and discovered a quaint wedding venue and restaurant called the Buitengeluk, which is a great spot to chill and have a meal.

Dick’s Sweets, a family-run business established in 1939, is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth. You can choose from Dick’s Sweets Nougat, Fudge, Turkish Delight or Novelty Candy.

I am an extremely active social entrepreneur, so when I heard that the businesspeople are committed to developing the economy through the vibrant Fourways Community Chamber of Commerce, I knew I had come to the right place
