Terms and Conditions
- The promoter of the competition is Private Property South Africa Proprietary Limited, Reg. no 2012/065291/07 herein after referred to as PPSA.
Eligibility to enter
- This competition is open to any persons over the age of 18 who currently reside in the Republic of South Africa and can produce a South African ID. This competition is not open to employees, directors, or consultants of Private Property or its sponsors, including their immediate families. Estate agents who are in subscription with Private Property may participate. The competition will run from 22 January 2025 - 25 February 2025.
How to enter
To participate in the competition, entrants must complete the survey honestly and submit it before the closing date. Only one entry per person will be accepted and deemed valid for the competition. Multiple entries by the same person will result in disqualification.
Participants will receive the winner announcement via e-mail. As part of their competition entry, participants must consent to receiving weekly Private Property newsletters sharing the latest property news, trends and competition information. Should participants unsubscribe before the end of the campaign period, they will no longer be eligible to win.
The prize
Prize winners will be announced on 26 February 2025 via an announcement in the Private Property newsletter.
The prizes are as follows:
Nedbank AVO Voucher worth R15 000, sponsored by Nedbank.
SA Fundamentals Property Investment Course worth R9 997, sponsored by Alternative Investor Network.
Mr Price Home Gift Voucher worth R3 500, sponsored by Sectional Title Solutions.
Prizes will be allocated within 48 hours after the winner has been contacted. Winners will receive their prizes in the form of an electronic voucher, sent via e-mail or via contact by the sponsor, as applicable.
Prizes will be allocated randomly, and the specific prize awarded to each winner will also be determined at random. The allocation process will be overseen by Head of Marketing to ensure fairness and transparency.
Winner announcement
Prize winners will be selected from a pool of qualified entries by a randomised draw. This will be overseen by the Head of Marketing to ensure that selected winners meet the eligibility criteria for the competition.
Although due care will be exercised, PPSA will not be held liable for any glitches, technical or otherwise, which may arise.
The winning draw is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners will be announced via email.
Winners will be contacted by PPSA via e-mail using the contact details from our newsletter mailing list and survey entries.
Receipt of the prize
Winners will have 30 days to claim their prize before it is forfeited to a redraw. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash. The winner must be in possession of a valid South African ID document.
If the prize remains unclaimed after the redraw, Private Property reserves the right to allocate the prize to an alternative winner or use it for future promotions.
Data protection and publicity
You consent to any personal information you provide in entering the prize draw being used by PPSA for the purposes of administering the prize draw, and for those purposes as defined within our privacy notice. By entering the competition, participants acknowledge and consent that, for the purpose of fulfilling the SA Fundamentals Property Investment Course prize, their contact details (including name and email address) will be shared with Alternative Investor Network, the sponsor of the prize. The sponsor may contact the winner directly to provide access to the course. Private Property will ensure that such information is shared securely and only for the intended purpose of delivering the prize.

The winner agrees to the release of their first name and surname to any other prize draw participants if requested via PPSA.
An announcement of the winners first name and surname will be made via PPSAs newsletter and winners consent to this provision upon entering the survey competition.
All personal information shall be used in accordance with PPSAs Privacy Policy.
By entering the competition, all entrants agree that any participation in this competition is subject to these terms and conditions, which will be interpreted by Private Property in its sole discretion, and that Private Property’s decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding.
All information relating to this competition published on any promotional or advertising material in any media at any time before or during the competition period will form part of the terms and conditions of entry.
Entrants consent to their personal information being processed by PPSA for purposes related to this competition, including winner announcements. Personal information will not be shared with third parties other than as required to deliver the prize or fulfill legal obligations, and all processing will comply with PPSA’s privacy notice.
Limitation of Liability
By entering, the participant agrees to the following: Private Property, their directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage, howsoever arising from or as a result of a participant’s participation in the competition or for any loss or damage, howsoever arising. Prior to awarding the prize, Private Property may require the winner to sign such an indemnity and waiver of liability. If a winner cannot provide such indemnity, they will forfeit the prize and the prize will once again be distributed by a separate draw. The ineligible winner will have no claim against Private Property in this event. Private Property reserves the right at any time prior to the final draw, to vary the nature of the competition or the prizes or to vary these terms and conditions or to withdraw the competition. In such event, all participants hereby waive any rights that they may have against Private Property and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against Private Property their directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants. Any amended terms and conditions published in any media will form part of the terms and conditions of the competition, to which terms entrants agree the competition is subject.
Private Property is not responsible for the delivery, quality, or condition of prizes provided by external sponsors. Any queries or claims related to the prize must be directed to the respective sponsor.
General
Private Property reserves the right to remove/delete any pictures and or posts and tweets it may deem inappropriate. Private Property (Pty) Ltd does not accept any responsibility or liability for any expenses or fees required for the purpose of using, maintaining, or enjoying the prize won in this competition. Private Property reserves the right to withdraw and/or alter any of the terms & conditions of this offer at any time, without prior notice. No employees, directors, agents, or consultants (or their immediate families) directly connected to or in the employment of Private Property (Pty) Ltd, its subsidiaries and business partners, associates, advertising or promotion agencies, and staff members of the participating outlets, may take part in the competition. By “agents” and “business partners” we are NOT referring to Estate Agent partners who are in subscription with Private Property.
By accepting the prize, winners agree that Private Property will be entitled to publish their names and photographs at no cost, in any advertising, promotional, print, point of sale or public relations material for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the end of the competition period. All participants and winners indemnify the organisers, associated companies, their advertising and promotion agencies and their directors, officers, employees and agents, against any and all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever in connection with their participation in any way in this promotion. Prior to awarding the prize, Private Property may require the winner to sign such an authorisation/indemnity.
