Private Property chats to Jan Minnie, Sales Manager at Adventure Lifestyle Estate, who shares everything there is to know about the exclusive Somerset Lakes Lifestyle Estate.

I'm here with Jan from Somerset Lakes at the Property Buyer show right here in Cape Town. Jan, I've been wanting to ask you, what exactly makes Somerset Lakes so special?
Jan:
Oh, there's lots. A lot makes it special. It's the one and only lifestyle estate, really, in the cape. We offer lots of open spaces. Four-hectare forest, six-hectare dam, lots of space around it. Child and pet-friendly. So the reason why I say that is the children are allowed to play in the streets, skateboard in the streets, ride their bicycles in the streets.
Marc:
That's awesome.
Jan:
So it's not like the usual estate where it says no skateboarding, no cycling around. So it's very much a family-oriented lifestyle estate.
Marc:
So in terms of this whole lifestyle estate concept, Somerset, I haven't seen much around in that area. Is this quite a new thing for the area in the cape?
I would say so. There's nothing else that compares. There's lots of other estates that offer very similar amenities that we do in the sense of housing. But nobody else that offers the spaces that we do. So there's nobody else that has a massive dam on their estate that you can access to swim in, to canoe in, to sail on, to fish in. And then we have the forest where we've got an adventure trail for the kids, foofy slides, and sandpits, and all the kinds of things that keep kids busy and happy. So there's nobody else that really offers any of that.
Marc:
Wow. That's incredible. Hey, thank you so much for talking to us. How's the show been?
Jan:
The show's been great. We've got lots of people interested, and people, they really enjoy the photographs that we're showing them to see the quality of the units. We've also got, like the quality of the interior of the units is really high. We've got Bosch appliances and Fishberg taps. And the choices that they can make without having to buy extra is really nice.
